More Jonathan Knight EA Inferno Suck!

I love big, dumb action games as much as anyone else; but somehow Dante's Inferno managed to break my stupid-o-meter. The fact that it tries to look smart just gives it another heaping helping of dumb.

it looks as if EA is looking to deliver another fomulaic... It just seemed like the camera was always so far away from the action in the game.

One thing I would like to see improved is the camera angles. It just seemed like the camera was always so far away from the action in the game. I hope this is something they are able to fix before the game launches later this year. It tends to suck you out of the action with the drawn back camera. I'm not against fixed camera angles, but I think the game would definitely benefit from closing the distance with the camera.

Other than the camera, it looks as if EA is looking to deliver another fomulaic, yet solid game for us all to enjoy. Be sure to check it out when the game drops next month.

Personally I'm more hyped about Darksiders than this.

Not to mention that I'm a fan of good classic literature, and this pretty much shits all over it.

Just played it, and I prefer GoW, this game seemed too stiff, whereas God of War it felt smooth and responsive, also God of Wars set pieces (from what i've seen look better). The graphics on Dantes Inferno actual gameplay parts look rough, but it's a demo so i'll give it the benefit of the doubt. The CG cutscenes look good, and from a comment said eariler, I think the quality remains good through all the cutscenes. Having said all of this I will not be picking up this game next year.

Hahahah ahaha!! They put Beatrice in Hell and tehy made fun of Dante's religion!!!! Hahahahahahhahahahha ahahahah!!!

And sounds like the gameplay sucks too!!!

"it's a compliment to be mentioned in the same sentence as that storied franchise"

Please... when you make a game that feels and plays damn close (even the way the camera moves!) to what God of War does... its only natural to be compared to it... When I played the demo, all I could think was "wow, this feels like GOW..." Unsurprisingly my friends made the same comment.

Now I am not saying that GOW was not influenced by other action games, but I am saying that of all the action games out there none feel like GOW besides this one. GOW did not feel like a knock off of anothers and took its own original steps. Anyhow... I am sure this will be tested by all that reads this... but that is my 2cents...
I completely agreed after playing the demo the only difference is the story line and the moral decsion making parts of the game i also found the fact that i could not control the camer really annonying coz at certain pints in the game u cant really see and you really want to move the camera

more on how fanboy jonathan knight fanboyized, debauched, and killed dante's inferno

http://community.livejournal.com/intelligamers/11739.html

Dragging Beatrice down into hell, and having it be because she lost faith
with Dante, is in a way one of the biggest slaps in the face of this game.
Beatrice was the epitome of purity, and the game in a way defiled her--and if
nothing else, Dante's image of her--by having her taken to Hell in the way she
was. They took away her saintliness (whether it was real or imagined by Dante
for his own poetic reasons I leave to y'all; Dante himself referred to her as
"the glorious lady of my mind") and the things that made her special to the real
Dante, all for the sake of creating a MacGuffin--game!Dante needed a reason to
fight his way through Hell, and hey, Beatrice is the woman Dante loved (...will
refrain from going off on just what "courtly love" is and why EA is failing so
hard at groking that "courtly love" and "love" as we see it are not the same
thing), so she'll do! Drag her down into Hell! And make it so she chose to
go!

#EAFail is a total clusterfuck of misogyny and pandering to the lowest common denominator. Here are a bunch of resources on it. (Last updated August 3 at 10:00 PM EST.)

No. No it is not. First off, the poem itself is called "The Comedy",
Inferno is one of the canticles. Secondly, the entire poem is an excuse for
Dante to rant about politics. Under no possible understanding of the work is
this game adapted from the source material. Yes, it takes place in Hell, but
Dante's structure of Hell and the demarcations of different sins relative to
each other borrows heavily from Ovid's work, so you could just as easily call
this game "Ovid's Metamorphosis" and be just as right!
